Rooms are organised and suitable for each age range.
Our Baby Room: 4 Weeks to 12 Months
|
Breakfast will be provided
until 8:45 in the morning when all the children under the age of 2 years are joined together in the Tweenie room for free
play.
At 9:15 the Babies and Tweenies separate
into their individual groups and go into their own rooms. The babies then undertake their own daily routine, which consists
of play activities, mid morning bottles, nappy changing and mid morning naps; if your child requires this.
At 11:30 the Nursery lunch is served.
After lunch nappy changing takes place again and then the main sleep session begins, obviously each individual baby has it's
own routine so therefore activities are provided throughout the day to accommodate each individual child.
During the afternoon session a light tea
is served at around 3:00pm. Afternoon bottles are given and activities take place. At this point another nappy change takes
place.
A selection of activities may include...Water
play, painting, jelly play, ball pools, sit & ride toys, push & pull toys and activity centres to name but a few.
Our Tweenie
Room: 12 Months to 2 Years

All of the children arrive
in the Pre-School room for a free play session. At 8:15am the children under 2 years of age go upstairs to the Tweenie room
for breakfast, which lasts until 8:45am. When breakfast has finished we have a free play session with the Babies.
At 9:15am the Babies go to their own room
and the Tweenie room routine commences.
At 9:30am the children in the Tweenie
room take part in an imaginative play session. During this time the children also have their nappies changed.
At 10:00am the children take part in a
physical play session, either inside or out (weather permitting). Once the children have taken part in physical play we have
a free play session and a creative session that link up with a monthly topic which is displayed around the room. This session
finishes at around 11:15am when we tidy up ready for lunch.
After lunch the children have an afternoon
nap until 1:45pm when everyone gets up, has their nappy changed and has as great time playing and getting messy.
3:00pm means that it is time for a light
snack and a drink followed by a story & singing. Whilst the children are taking part in the singing a member of staff
sets up the room for a free play session which takes us up to 5:00pm when we all go downstairs to wait for our parents to
collect us when the Nursery closes at 6:00pm.
Our Toddler Room: 2 Years to 3 Years
|
When the Nursery opens
at 7:30am all the children meet in the Pre-School room for free play. At 8:15am the Toddler and Pre-School children have their
breakfast, until 8:45am. At 8:45am we have a free play session in the Pre-School room.
At 9:00am, the Toddler children move through
into the Toddler room when we do the 'Today is?' and the 'weather is?' board. We also ask the children their names, ages and
where they live.
After this, at around 9:15am, we do the
nappies and the room is then set up for the morning activities which may include, cars, dressing up, painting, musical instruments,
etc...
10:30am is our physical play activity,
either outdoor (weather permitting) or indoor singing & dancing.
Then at 11:00am we have story time until
11:20am when children go to the toilet and nappies are changed before washing hands for lunch.
Lunch is then served between 11:30am &
12:00pm. We then wash hands & faces before sleep time at 12:15pm.
We awake at 1:45pm when it is time for
nappies & toileting. Activities are then set up with various toys, ready for the afternoon activities at 2:00pm. The activities
last until 3:00pm, when afternoon tea is served.
At 3:30pm we have a discussion time which
then leads into a second physical play activity, indoors or out (weather permitting).
At 4:15pm we have a free play session
which takes us up to 5:00pm when all of the children join together in the Pre-School room to await the arrival of our parents
before the Nursery closes at 6:00pm.
Our Pre-School
Room: 3 Years to 5 Years
|
A typical day in the Pre-School room starts at 8:15am when the children
from the Toddler and the Pre-School rooms have breakfast.
At 8:45am when breakfast has finished the children are taken to the bathroom to wash
their hands and faces. Free play then commences until 9:00am.
At 9:00am the two rooms separate and follow their own individual routines.
To start off the day in the Pre-School we all gather together for circle time on the
mat. This usually consists of 'self registration', (the child finds their own name and places it onto the hand), during this
time we also discuss the weather and 'today's date' (calendar board).
At 9:15am the children have a drink and go to the bathroom. Once everyone has finished
the room is set for structured play, with their key worker. During structured play the room is set out to accommodate all
the areas of learning, (construction, manipulative area, small world imagination play, language & literacy area, creative
play / messy play and an emergent writing area), it is during this time that topic work and adult led activities take place.
This session usually continues for about 1 hour, this is followed by a story & singing.
At 11:00am we have a physical play session, usually outside weather permitting.
If this is not feasible then a physical play session is set up in the pre-school room.
Lunch time begins at around 11:30am and lasts until 12:15pm. The children in the pre-school
room do not require an afternoon nap as they are preparing to go to school. It is at this point that the children have 'child
choice' activities for half an hour.
At 1:00pm the afternoon session begins and follows a similar routine as the morning
session so that all of the children attending the Nursery can benefit from all the activities on offer.
At 5:00pm the toddler room joins up with the pre-school room for a free play
session, which continues until the Nursery closes at 6:00pm.
